Kitty Ko answers:
It might be a brown recluse spider, or you could be allergic. I’d agree about getting another ER to take a look at it now rather than wait.

How to change copy width to work around new right hand Yahoo material?
Recently Groups added a number of their comments as standard Right hand formatting. Now the entire newsletter is squeezed into the shortened width. My 5 -7 page weekly is now 9+ pages and the formatting is awful with line breaks in the wrong places. I want to wrap around the forced right hand material that Groups now includes but not make allowance for when I place my copy in. I’m like the blind weather broadcasters, and can’t see the screen.

Kitty Ko answers:
There may be a simple solution. For screen viewing, look at the top Toolbar for View. There is a text size option. I use Firefox, but this works the same in Internet Explorer.
If you refer to altering Microsoft Word columns, that is under it’s toolbar, Format and then columns. But this would be a temporary change for viewing. I do not know that there is an easy way for you to do something different from the group parameters.

Gender roles in metal – thoughts and opinions?
So I’m doing this argumentative paper for my english class about how gender roles in metal are more equal than they are commonly given credit for. Anyways, since it’s a male dominated genre, I’m focusing more on the female aspect of metal. Anyways, I’ve discussed women in bands, album art, sex as a theme in metal, the personification of bands by one or two members (think of how everyone thinks of Mikael Åkerfeldt when Opeth is mentioned, or Abbath and Immortal, or Nergal and Behemoth), and the duties of band members within the band (who writes what, etc). I still intend to discuss lyrics, concerts, and professional jobs revolving around metal (such as magazine contributors). Anyways, I’m slightly over six pages right now, and need to get to at least ten, so any suggestions as to what other things I should talk about? I also plan to expand on a few of my topics, and I think I should be able to squeeze out another page on subjects I’ve already discussed briefly.
Also, what are your thoughts and opinions of gender roles in metal?
BQ – Favorite Grindcore band?
And for my contacts – sorry i haven’t been on here much recently, I’ve been a bit busy with school and stuff. I still try to get to your questions in time, though, lol.

Kitty Ko answers:
Metal itself screams ‘testosterone’ to me. I guess that’s why it’s mostly male dominated. Usually, I do not have a problem with females in metal. It’s when they become a gimmick, I become frustrated. For example, it’s almost become a rule for a symphonic power or a gothic metal band to have at least one female vocalist. Many bands only and only become popular because of the female member/s. Take The Agonist as an example. They’d be just another metalcore band if it wasn’t for their vocalist. Although I really do like Arch Enemy, they’ve kind of taken the same route. Just recently, they decided to re re record a lot of the songs which didn’t have Angela on them as the newer fans wouldn’t listen to anything before Angela came in the band.
Though, this is not always the case. I didn’t even Bolt Thrower had a female member even after listening to them for quite a while. Sabina of Holy Moses has pretty much run the band since day 1 and has stayed true to the band’s roots and never promoted the band through image.
It doesen’t really matter what the gender is as long as they’re good at what they do but I really hate it when females are used more for promotion rather than music.
BA: Napalm Death. Then again, I don’t listen to much grindcore.

Jane asks…
Any cases where the movie is better than the book?
I’m a big time movie-watcher and book-reader. My opinion is that the books is ALWAYS better than the movie. I will always read the book first and then watch the movie.
Case in point – I’m watching Girl with the Dragon Tattoo after having read the book. Their choice for Lisbeth is totally not what I envisioned. The movie’s alright but then again, I don’t expect a lot. I don’t see how they can squeeze a 800 page book into a 2.5 hour movie.
I’d be interested in hearing opinions where you found that the movie was better than the book.
Princess Bride – hmmm – great movie, never read the book, so I can’t say.
Harry Potter – nooooo, I much preferred the books over the moview – MUCH deeper

Kitty Ko answers:
I haven’t seen any movie that’s better than the book. Probably because it’s hard to get that kind of detail. And you can read a book at your own leisure, getting to intimately know the characters in a way that you can’t by watching a two hour film.

Wayne asks…
Is anyone willing to edit my short page long, 3 paragraphs?
i know its kind of stupid but i need to describe three things: two that are similar, and the third is obviously different but have some similarities. i just need help with any awkward or badly worded sentences, i know that the overall thing is stupid:
A small black puppy played in a dog park in the afternoon. She yipped and snarled as she ripped up a hill, the pink ribbon on her head and her finely groomed coat blowing in the wind. Long strands of hair hung from her shiny black noes like a mustache and wavy bangs framed her charcoal eyes. Thick, curly locks of fur hid the blue collar around her neck. The fur that gleamed in the sun like ebony on her droopy ears flapped, rapidly as her four sturdy legs tore through the grass. She sprinted to a willow tree and picked up a pink ball in her mouth. The ball let out repeated sharp squeaks every time she squeezed it between her teeth. Exhausted from playing, she dropped the ball from her mouth and stuck out her pink tongue, panting. She snarled and raised her short, curly tail at other dogs passing by.
A small black puppy with white spotted ears, skipped toward the tree, yapping and snarling at other dogs. Her blue collar jingled around her neck and her pink ribbon blew loosely as she pranced. She dropped a purple ball on the grass and panted, her tongue flapping rapidly and huffing as if she were hyperventilating. Tired from playing, she approached the black puppy under the shade of the willow tree to rest. She gazed timidly at the black puppy with her dark, watery eyes. Rust colored tear marks stained the fur surrounding her eyes and dripped toward her wet, pink nose. Her short curly tail hid between her four twitching, scrawny legs. Wavy fur thinly coated her legs and fell in curly puffs around her ankles. Startled by a distant bark, she perked up her white pointed ears that shimmered like snow covered mountain peaks in the sun.
A big dark brown dog let out a bellowing howl as he ran up the hill. He hobbled and leaped wildly on his three gangly legs with a short braided roped between his teeth. Stopping in front of the willow tree, he raised his behind in the air and wagged his long tail. A bright streak reflected from the sun ran up his tangled fur along his spine as he arched his back, encouraging the two puppies to join him. He stared at them eagerly with deep chocolate eyes and his mouth wide open in a smile, showing his black gums and yellow teeth. His mangled chew toy fell from his mouth to the grass in a pool of thick saliva. Realizing that they would not play with him, he eased himself to the ground on his three legs next to the two startled puppies. He slobbered and panted heavily with his long, wet tongue like a melting popsicle flapping and spraying saliva on them.

Read this and leave feedback? (about a page long)?
I laid on my side, the dirty sheets pulled up over my face. I felt the tears streaming down my face one by one. The usual swarm of wasps were buzzing around in my stomach as I remembered what was happening just the next day. The government was holding another gathering; in other words, they were running more tests and needed more guinea pigs. They were going to ask for volunteers and tell us about how they’ve fixed everything, and that no one will die like all the other times. I squeezed my eyes shut tightly, remembering the fact that my own mother was one of the unfortunate many that had died during a supposed safe experiment.
President March had reminded us that his team of scientists were in need of more teenage girls for the birthing portion of the experiments. The population of the entire world had dropped to an astounding 2.5 million, making it a law that every girl have a surgery to be able to have more than one child at a time. My heart ached for the women who were unable to have even one child, seeing as they were mistreated and sent to the more dangerous experiments which no one has ever returned from.
I’d turned fourteen just the week before, and I knew that my name would be at the top of the list to be sent to the birthing experiments. My stomach was constantly churning, and I wasn’t able to think about anything else. I knew that I had an elevated chance of dying. Suddenly I shoved the sheet off my face and looked at my four year old sister, Bailey, sleeping beside me, studying her features intently. She’d been a couple of months old when our mother died, so I’d raised her and had been her mother-figure. I’d been reluctant to tell her where her real mother was, not having even told her what the semiannual gatherings the government hosted were about. I didn’t want her to know about the awful world we lived in just yet; I wanted her childhood to be as normal as possible.
President March always reminded us that we should be grateful to live in America and forget about how horrible the conditions were, because in Europe and Asia, things were worse. He told us that Africa had become completely unlivable, and that no one had heard from Australia in years. The fanciest house in America, besides the president’s mansion, was a run-down shack. Most people lived in tents or under some trees, but Bailey and I lived in what used to be a dumpster.
I looked up at the ceiling, which was the dumpster door, and looked out the hole I’d carved a few years prior. I’d placed a sheet of glass over it to transform it into a window, making it somewhat closer to an actual home. Bailey had been an angel and never mentioned anything about how terrible our life was, not once complaining about our dumpster for a home.
I sighed heavily, wondering who was going to take care of Bailey while I was away. I remembered the lady that lived in the same alley as us, and I realized she was the closest thing to a friend we had. I put it in the back of my mind to ask her the next day.
The moon provided enough light for me to see the sky through the window, watching the brown smoke clouds instead of the stars, which, no one had seen for five years. I remembered the panic and fear that had risen once the ozone had partially disintegrated and killed more than four-fifths of the world’s population, when I was nine. My father had been a fire-fighter and was out saving lives when it happened, and I hadn’t seen him since then. I never let myself mourn for him, still believing that he was out there somewhere. I made sure Bailey knew that her father was alive, that he was just on a prolonged adventure that he’d soon return from.
Thinking brought too much worry, so I closed my eyes and tried to sleep.

InDesign Exports PDF with less pages?
I have constructed a 6 page InDesign document that is a newsletter for the company at which I work. If you go under the pages tab, they are arranged as 1, 2-3, 4-5, 6 (with page one being the cover and 6 being the back). It is not a booklet, but rather just something you flip through and it has a staple in the upper left corner on the front. When I print it from InDesign, it says I have 6 pages and it prints 6 pages. If I export it as a PDF, it says I only have 4 pages… and when I print it, it squeezes 2 pages onto one 8.5×11 sheet for pages 2-5. Essentially, page 2 and 3 are made into minis and shoved onto one sheet together, and so on, because the PDF is under the assumption that I only have 4 pages, when really I have 4 spreads. Can anyone help me? I attempted changing the “facing pages” tab off but it didn’t change anything. Please give any insight you have. Thank you.

Kitty Ko answers:
I just built a document as you described to test it for myself. I exported a pdf and also got 4 pages when spreads was check in the Acrobat dialog. When I did not check spreads in the Acrbat dialog I got 6 separate pages. Spreads option is just under Range in the Pages section of the Acrobat print dialog, you should try unchecking it.
Hope this helps!

Adobe PDF Says I Have Less InDesign Pages than I Do….?

Kitty Ko answers:
It’s exporting your file as spreads for pages 2-5. There’s a Spreads check box in Export as pdf options on the General tab in the Pages section – this may be ticked but as it operates separate from the Print options selected it may be the reason why you can print your pages normal but they export as spreads.

Does this sound bad to do?
I have done this as long as I can remember. I like to pinch my fingertips in books. Like i take the very tip put it between the pages and squeeze the book closed. It sometimes hurts but it also feels good…haha hard to explain.
Anyway, does this sound bad to do? My friend freaked out when she saw me doing it. I do it all the time absentmindedly
Does this sound weird or normal?

Kitty Ko answers:
I guess I do that absentmindedly too haha, now that I think of it. Everyone has a little quirk, like tapping their fingers or biting their nails. It’s not abnormal

Is it a virus or can I remove it?
After I got into the Discovery channel, A Quiznos sub (wallpaper on the 2 side) has taken up spaces by the side of original page. ie. the page was squeezed. Somehow, this sub also appear in some other site I visit. eg. comedy channels. Pls tell me how to remove the ‘wall-paper’ Thanks.

Kitty Ko answers:
Right click on any where on the desktop.
Then select properties in the pop-up menu. Display properties windows appears.
Select Desktop tab. Select “none” in Backgrounds list and click Apply.
Thats it.
Worked?
Thanks,

Alana asks…
How is the first page of my sci-fi story?
I’m glad I didn’t grow up here. In San Ares, District 4 specifically, also known as the “Great Driveway” of Mars because of the massive space port that sets itself here. The homes are all, well, there are no homes per se. The city is littered with apartment buildings, some to rundown to even live in. The dreariness makes it hard to tell which ones are inhabited and which ones aren’t. Occasionally I can tell though because of those who pear down at me from dust-encrusted windows as I walk by.
The stone-filled cement streets, while barren and narrow, are the only ways to circumnavigate the cramped complexes. Endless staircases lead from one floor to another and makeshift aluminum bridges allow faster movement between buildings. A person afflicted with claustrophobia would find this place some sort of nightmare.
6700 Laquester Apartments, the address I was looking for, seemed to not exist. I was ordered for a doctor house call there. 6698, 6699, 6701. All appeared as usual, but it were as if 6700 was just missing, or erased from the likeness of the building.
I felt conflicted on whether to knock on the closest door and ask for assistance. Suddenly though, a large, burly man with a clay-colored brownish-red skin appeared in the corner of my eye having just made his way up the 200+ step staircase. He looked tired, and a his face was opalescent from a light sweat, though his full expression reflected a subtle cheeriness.
“Excuse me, sir, my name is Dr. Al-…Virgil, Esmohl, Dr. Virgil Esmohl”, I said as he approached me, “Can you tell me where apartment 6700 is?”
First silence. Then his expression then grew emotionless, lingering on aggravated possibly, but I couldn’t tell in all honesty. The Sun shone a bright yellow-orange as it began to set on the horizon, casting a shadow from the aluminum roofs over his face, making him seem nearly ominous as he towered at least a foot over my stature.
“You’re here to help Cynthia!”, he shouted, unexpectedly happy and embraced me in a powerful hug, lifting my feet off the ground and squeezing me hard enough to force the air from my lungs.
“Y-yes…I-I sup-p-pose! Sir, can you l-let me d-down!?”
His vice-grip hold released me to my feet”
“Oi, I am truly sorry mister! It is just that in the last week Cynthia has become very sick. Everyone in this whole sector has been worried about her. Except for that god-forsaken father of hers Arzon”, his once excited smile turned to grimace, “Lowlife bastard only wishes to spend his money on cocaine or dicex. Come to think of it, how were they able to afford a shmancy-pants doctor such as yourself, eh?”
I didn’t know the answer to his question. The medical company I work for doesn’t tell me these things, they merely pay me and give information on where to go for house calls. The payment usually run from patients, then to the hospital, then finally, to myself.
“I honestly wouldn’t know mister…?”
“Highley, Doba Highley. I’d be the landlord round here doctor.”
“Well that’s good. Then you’ll be able to tell me where apartment 6700 would be right?”
“Well you blind are ya? What do you think the door between 5699 and 6701 would be?”
Turned once again at each apartment door. I saw the same as before. Each apartment, separated between what looked like what could be a closest for supplies, with the door being less that two feet in width.
“That couldn’t be there room could it?” I asked, glaring at the closet.
“Fraid it is sir.”
“They are home then?”
“Well have a look for yourself.”
I turned towards the door. There was no handle, just a small lock that appeared to be more or less used for a small gate to someones backyard. I popped it open and looked inside the small room.
Darkness filled every corner, with the exception of thin rays of sunlight that escaped through the cracked walls.
By far, this was the worst looking home I had ever visited. From what I could see, ragged blankets were spread across the floor in looks of what was most likely three separate beds, with bundled newspaper as crude pillows. The room was probably large enough to fit a sky cruiser into, probably eight by five feet in total.
“I let them stay here for free”, Doba said from outside the room, “they used to have a larger room until the other customers started complaining that they were paying too much for theirs. Sometimes, I bring them bread or milk so they have something to chow on. Usually I try to bring it when the father isn’t around. Are they not home I presume?”
At first that is what I believed. No sound came from the room, or welcome or surprise when I opened the door. Only about three feet in front of me could be clearly seen. So I pulled out my doctor’s light for checking down one’s throat and scanned the room.
This time, I could see two figures lying at the far wall. I stepped forward over a broken clock and lamp and kneeled down over the two persons.

Kitty Ko answers:
I see potential in this already. As a reader/writer that is not into sci-fi very much I enjoyed it. You have some dialog set up issues such as when you had said: “I let them stay here for free”, Doba said from outside the room, “they used to have a larger room until…..
The first section “I let them stay here for free”, this is fine. Here (very small mistake, but agents look for these) is: Doba said from outside the room, “they used to have a larger room until…..
After room is a period.
I would look over the very first sentence of your page when your character says “I’m glad I didn’t grow up here” It’s better to show this through actions of the character or make the reader want to believe the area is a horrible place. Telling in a story is only okay sometimes. I don’t know how far this part of the story is, but if it’s the beginning I would stray away from it. Sometimes towards the end of the book, telling can be a powerful tool if you use it correctly.
Also, as I learned lessons from Kurt Vonnegut, never use “suddenly” or “instantly”. Things don’t suddenly happen, they happen.
It’s very believable that the story is held in the future. I could pull myself into the story with ease. Good!
One little thing to help you improve, “seem” is another word that many authors use. In fact, using that word makes the author sound as if they aren’t sure about his/her own writing. Make it sound confident and definite.
Good luck and keep going!

Mark asks…
Opinions or critisms of the opening page for my novel please?
This the opening of my novel, I would be greatful is you have an opinion on bettering it or ideas that I can work on.
From the street I could tell something was wrong, the front door of the house was wide open and hanging off one hinge, the bay windows were shattered; the red curtains billowing out of them made it look as if the house were bleeding. Panic over took my judgement and I tore off up the front path, not trying to hide my presence or lessen the sound of my footfalls; my only aim was to get through the door and find a rational explanation. I burst through the door, my breath catching in my chest as I surveyed the room. The lounges in the sitting room had been flung across the room, the book cases had been pushed over, the books they housed torn to shreds their papers littering the floor. Every photo that had once hung on the white walls was charred beyond recognition, taking the memories with them.
“What the hell?” I breathed as I took in the sitting room, my stomach was churning and adrenaline was coursing through me, there was no rational explanation for this something horribly wrong. I chastised myself as I bit down on my tongue fighting the urge to call out to my family, commanding myself to make better judgement. I had already acted foolishly when I ran inside without knowing the situation, calling out and drawing attention to myself wouldn’t be the smartest idea I had ever had.
Instead I began towards the kitchen, watching every corner and door way in the house, using every sense I had to try to keep and upper hand. No one was going to get the jump on me in my own house. The kitchen had been demolished, cupboard doors ripped off, the fridge was knocked over and every plate, glass, pot and pan had been thrown on the floor. But the damage wasn’t the first thing I noticed; the red pool of blood that was seeping into my shoes was, I nearly gaged as I realised I wasn’t standing in water like I had thought. The blood was coming from behind the kitchen door; fear took over every other emotion in my body as I forced myself to look around the door.
I could feel a scream building up in my chest as I put my teeth through lip to stop it getting out, instead rasping sobs ripped through my throat as I looked down on my Mother’s lifeless body. Her throat had been slit, her face was pale and her eyes were staring at the roof, her dark hair so unlike my own was tangled with blood… I ran.
I couldn’t stand to see my Mother like that. Tears blurred my eyes as I swung right and took the stairs two at a time; I knew that my Father and brothers were home, I had to find them. I dammed caution to hell as I started screaming out for my other family, tears filled my eyes as I checked my younger brothers room; there was blood every. I didn’t pause to look for his body; I couldn’t take seeing him with deaths mark all over his little body.
Tears were clouding my vision as I began up the hall way again, my legs carrying me faster than I had moved in a long time. With the tears and my speed I didn’t notice the body lying on the floor until I tripped over it, and was sent sprawling, my head smashing into the floor. I knew it should hurt but I didn’t feel it, I turned back to the body and crawled over to my Father. There was no blood around him, but he was badly beaten. I reached out to him, touching his hand as tears rolled down my face; I didn’t bother to check for a pulse. That was my biggest mistake of the day.
His eyes flew open at my touch as his fingers clamped around my hand and pulled me towards him. “Andie, where is everyone else are they all ok?” He rasped as blood trickled out his mouth, his eyes burning into me.
“No Dad, Mum and Mark are both dead and I haven’t found Seb yet.” I sobbed as his eyes widened in horror. “What the hell is going on Dad?” I cried as he squeezed my hand harder, coughing up blood as he did.
“The Announcers attacked us, there was nothing I could do Andie…forgive me?” He began coughing, his eyes rolling back in his head before focusing on me once again. “Run, take the car and run; drive until you run out of gas, don’t stop. Don’t look back, just run. Take the money from the safe and go!” He coughed again, fire burning in his eyes. I shook my head, tears falling onto his chest. “Now Andie!” He chocked as he tried to raise his voice.
“What about Seb?” I breathed as I began to stand up and move away from my Father. “What about Derrick, if they came for us they will be after him too!”
“They are at the safe house Seb sensed something was wrong and drove straight there, go and pick them up. You need to stick together. Forget about us and go Andie. Don’t look back, be strong and don’t look back.” He wheezed as his eyes began to close, blood not pouring from his mouth.

Kitty Ko answers:
It is certainly intriguing, but I think that you brought way too much information in too quickly. The audience needs to ask questions- but not be completely confused. It is easy as an author to assume that your reader knows exactly what you are on about, but very rarely they do. I’m not saying that you should spell everything out, but you should start with a slightly more self-explanatory opening, like the main character finding her father? It is very nice, but there are aspects that can be tweaked.
For example, the first sentence needs a semi colon after ‘I could tell something was wrong.’ On the whole, I enjoyed reading it. Good luck
P.S Please answer my question if you have time.

Graham asks…
What do you think of this first page *10 points*?
As I looked deep into the eyes of Brayden Johnson I felt a sudden rush of butterflies in my belly. I wanted to say something, anything just to break the silence, but the silence was somehow relaxing. I couldn’t believe I had got him alone for once, I don’t even know where we were, but the room was dark with the littlest amount of light. I could only see him.
He kept staring at me. Smiling, I don’t know what kind of smile it was it was just a simple smile. Out the corner of my eye I saw something move across the room. I turned to look but nothing was there when I looked back to Brayden his smile had gone and his face looked as though he was in pain. I looked down towards his neck and saw a scarlet ribbon of blood streaming down to his bare chest.
He collapsed in front of me and I kneeled beside him squeezing his hand. I tried shouting for help but I had no voice. I saw something written in blood on his arm it said “I did this for you” what the hell did that mean? Who did this? I looked around the room again and saw a guy appear he was tall he looked about my age he had jet black hair and was dressed in black.
I stood up to get a better look and realised I had seen him somewhere before, when I was little.
I was stood in my bedroom it must have been 3 in the morning I had heard a noise outside my window so I looked out and faced a man being bitten and devoured. I watched and never took my eyes off him as the dark figure drained all the life from him but I made the mistake of putting my hand on the window because as soon as it touched it the figure looked right at me, his eyes were glowing red. Our eyes had fixed for what seemed like forever until he dropped his victim and flew off into the forests.
I knew it was the same guy only he hadn’t aged . I don’t know exactly what he was but he sure as hell wasn’t human. I looked into his eyes and he looked into mine and like when I first saw him they were fixed.
‘Bryony are you even listening to me?’ Emma asked me angrily nudging me.
‘What? Uh yeah sorry’ I replied pathetically.

Kitty Ko answers:
Well I have got to say, I was not expecting it to be this good when I clicked on this question. Your writing is actually very good. I like how it went from a romantic, introspective narrative, and then catch the reader off guard by going into a much darker, suspenseful direction. That is the best way to approach this kind of story. My only note would be to change “I was stood in my bedroom” to “I was standing in my bedroom” however, I am not the most grammatically inclined so I may be mistaken on that. Overall I would say continue in this direction. Honestly I would like to read more, maybe post a like to the story when you are done?

Want to play a game where you open any book to a random page and start reading?
“You will be silent, maitak,” the Grand Amiral cut her off. “Or you will share in his imprisonment.” “I will not be silent the maitrakh snarled. “A Norghri accused of treason to the over clan must be given over to the clan dynasts for the ancient rules of discovery and jugment. It is the law. “I am not bound by Nogrho las,” teh Grand Admiral said coldly. “Kabarakh ahs been a traitor to the Empire. By Imperial rules will be judged and condemned.” “The clan dynasts will demand—” “The clan dynasts are in no position to demand anything,” the Grand Admiral barked, touching the comlink cylinder pocketed beside his tunic insignia. “Do you require a reminder of what it means to defy the Empire?” Leia heard the faint sound of the maitrakh’s sigh. “No, my lord,” she said, her voice conceding defeat. The Grand Admiral studied her. “You shall have one anyway.” He touched his comlink again—and abruptly the interior of the dukha flashed with a blinding burst of green light. Leia jerked her head back into Chewbacca’s legs, squeezing her eyelids shut against the sudden searing pain ripping through her eyes and face. For a single, horrifying second she thought that the dukha had taken a direct hit, a turbolaser blast powerful enough to bring the whole structure down in flaming ruin around them. But the after image burned into her retina showed the Grand Admiral still standing proud and unmoved; and belatedly she understood.

Kitty Ko answers:
“Have you seen him?” the dispatcher asks. She says no. “Well, there isn’t much we can do about it,” the dispatcher says. The babysitter goes into panic mode and pleads with him to help her. “Now, now, it’ll be okay,” he says. “Give me your number and street address, and if you can keep this guy on the phone for at least a minute we’ll try to trace the call. What was your name again?”
“Linda.”
“Okay, Linda, if he calls back we’ll do our best to trace the call, but just keep calm. Can you do that for me?”
“Yes,” she says, and hangs up. She decides to turn the lights down so she can see if anyone’s outside, and that’s when she gets another call.
“It’s me,” the familiar voice says. “Why did you turn the lights down?”
“Can you see me?” she asks, panicking.
“Yes,” he says after a long pause.
“Look, you’ve scared me,” she says. “I’m shaking. Are you happy? Is that what you wanted?”
“No.”
“Then what do you want?” she asks.
Another long pause. “Your blood. All over me.”
She slams the phone down, terrified. Almost immediately it rings again. “Leave me alone!” she screams, but it’s the dispatcher calling back. His voice is urgent.
“Linda, we’ve traced that call. It’s coming from another room inside the house. Get out of there! Now!!!”
She tears to the front door, attempting to unlock it and dash outside, only to find the chain at the top still latched. In the time it takes her to unhook it she sees a door open at the top of the stairs. Light streams from the children’s bedroom, revealing the profile of a man standing just inside.
She finally gets the door open and bursts outside, only to find a cop standing on the doorstep with his gun drawn. At this point she’s safe, of course, but when they capture the intruder and drag him downstairs in handcuffs, she sees he is covered in blood. Come to find out, all three children have all been murdered.

how to stretch a two chunck/ prong essay to 1000 words?
i hav to write a two chunk eassay about fast food n im stuck i ended up with lk 4 paragraph n im only at around 600 words on my second page n i don’t know how to squeeze all of that in to a two chunck essay
aalso how many paragraph total am i suppose to have for a two chunk eessay
also how many thesis am i suppose to hav

Kitty Ko answers:
What in the blazing **** is a two-chunk essay? I’ve heard of a five-paragraph essay, but not a two-chunk.
Oh. I see. After Googling it I see we’ve reduced the five-paragraph down to four…an opener, the “two-chunk” middle grafs, and a summary.
Sigh.
Let’s start at the beginning…
A “thesis” is the whole idea of your essay, and it’s ONE central idea that you’re trying to convince the reader of, or informing them about. So your thesis could be “Fast food causes early death,” or “Fast food depresses wages and labor skills,” or “Fast food increases family time.” Whatever. It should be stated in your first graf.
Then you put in two grafs to support your thesis. Use direct quotes from reference material and be sure to cite them with footnotes. (A) it adds more words, (B) it backs up your paper as more than mere opinion, (C) it shows you did some research and (D) if you don’t use citations but use the author’s words it’s PLAGIARISM and can get you in lots of deep…water.
Then wrap up with a last graf reminding the (apparently slow) reader (perhaps suffering from short-term memory loss?) of the great points you brought up, and why THAT makes your first graf true and unassailable.
You can’t stretch word count. You can stretch page count, but not word count.

Is there any need for this? (Web Copywriting Guide)?
Hello,
I am a successful freelance copywriter for the web. I specialize in writing
words that sell online. Over the past two years I have helped many Webpreneurs
and Affiliate / Internet Marketers in creating content for websites, landing pages,
squeeze pages and seo articles that have doubled or even tripled their online
incomes…
I was wondering if it’s worth creating a guide which will entail in depth
steps that I use in my business, which any one can learn and follow
to creating killer web copy that converts and gets Top Placement on
Google…
What do you think? Is there any need for a step-by-step guide to
creating web copy that sells? Thanks for the feedback!

Would Any Realtors Be Interested In This?
Hello,
My name is Marshall and I am an experienced
Internet Marketer. I specialize in lead generation.
I use various techniques; landing pages, squeeze
pages, emails etc. to pull warm leads in your local
farm area with regards to people who are interested
in selling or buying a home.
My question is: Would there be any interest among
Realtors to buy warm motivated leads from me?
The leads will only be sold once and to one Realtor
only. Then they will be discarded. The leads will
also be from your local “farm” area and be motivated
to buy or sell a house.
I was thinking $25 per lead.
Any interest if I were to start pulling warm leads?
First of all, the leads I will be providing are 100 times better than than the MLS. The MLS provides cold leads from people who have not opted in for a specific Realtor to call them. I am offering leads that are warm ready to be contacted by a specific Realtor. My squeeze pages will specify the name of the Realtor before the person signs up to be contacted. My leads will have a high chance of closing.
Finally, when I mention FARM area I am talking any area you wish to have leads in.
Lastly, the leads I give you are not traffic to your website. I will once a week email you names, phone numbers and email addresses of people in the city you choose who are interested to be contacted by you and who want to buy or sell.

Kitty Ko answers:
Realestate agents get their leads from an MLS ( multi listing service ) I don’t think they would be interested in paying $25 per lead when they get hundreds of leads per month and only have to pay $99.00 per year. And if a farmer wanted to get rid of his property he would either put up a FOR SALE sign or go find a realestate agent on his own anyway. It’s not too often that realestate agents go to look for farms to buy and sell but they would definitely try to sell it if it were in foreclosure and would definitely try to sucker the owner into a contract and make believe they are trying to sell the property when in fact they don’t really don’t care about saving the property or even the owners credit for that matter and are just waiting for it to go toward a ShortSale so that they can steal it from the owner at a wholesale price and then try to sell it back to the owner with a lease to own option at a closer to market value price even though they know that all property values in the area are going down. They would probably pay you $25 dollars only if they profit from your lead. All you are doing is the research and locating a motivated seller. I believe your skills would be best used as a Properties Investor where you can make money by simply locating properties– doing the homework researching and gathering all the neeeded information on that proerty and passing the property onto someone who has the money to buy it and for this alone you can earn 10% of either the actual market value price or 10% of the contracted sale price of a property. If I were you I would google –You find it We fund it –or call 407-965-0760 for more information. You can use my name if you like: Sam Rosario — in fact I had just spoke to them this morning about an hour ago. Good Luck

Am I the only guy that hates wearing jeans?
They are so uncomfy! They are so heavy and itchy and hot. And they never, EVER fit right. I can either squeeze into a size 30 or wear a size 32 and have to pull them up and re-tighten my belt every 5 steps. It honestly baffles me why jeans are so popular. The only thing jeans have going for them is appearance. Do people really care about looks that much?
I love athletic shorts/pants, they are light weight, softer, and fit so much better. Like these:

Vocaroo allows you to record sounds/voice and then uploads it to their web server, which then you have various options available to do after you have recorded. You can send it to a friend via Email etc.
It also provides you with the HTML code, which you can use to upload and post onto websites as a “widget” so to speak.

Is it possible for a big boned woman to become skinny?
Please don’t tell me that there’s no such thing as being big boned and that its just a myth, because I know that since I was born I have always been bigger built, although i am overweight when I squeeze my arm or something, I don’t have timid, petite bones and muscles, I have a big build already (the excess weight doesn’t help),
So I wondered can I ever be skinny and have a flat stomach -my aim is to get a body similar to her: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.hotxmodels.com/wp-content/gallery/irina-shayk-tight-dress/irina-shayk-dress-8.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.hotxmodels.com/irina-shayk-tight-blue-dress/&usg=__l59LOD-npUBr7d9gJg0Xb_LZ2iY=&h=1742&w=1100&sz=219&hl=en&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=veeXFRxVXFVr8M:&tbnh=183&tbnw=118&ei=W49lTaObC5KKhQeXksDkBQ&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dirina%2Bshayk%2Bdresses%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26biw%3D981%26bih%3D661%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=276&vpy=148&dur=8439&hovh=283&hovw=178&tx=142&ty=197&oei=W49lTaObC5KKhQeXksDkBQ&page=1&ndsp=17&ved=1t:429,r:7,s:0

Kitty Ko answers:
Renee it is very possible. You are large boned and you know it. But, that is not a problem.
You did not say your height, weight and measurements so I will just need to talk generally rather than specific. You need to eat well balanced meals cutting your calorie intake- smaller portions.
Start or increase an exercise program- shoot to do it daily. Can you be skinny- I think you can but it would be a large boned female version of being skinny. With large bones you will not look like the model in the picture. But, it is possible if you really work at it to a have a flat stomach. You will not look like that model since she is not large boned. But, any weight you lose will be a bonus for you.
Generally, if you lost weight- it could give you less of a chance to get certain medical problems such as stroke, heart attack or diabetes and certain type of cancers. I am not a doctor so you would need to get a physical examination even if you are perfectly healthy in your opinion.
Once again, you will not look like the model in the picture- but you can get a flat stomach. When will that happen all depends on how much weight do you need to lose. Since you say you are overweight, then you need a medical professional helping to monitor your progress.
Good Luck on your weight loss program. But, do not lose any more weight than you have to.

Elvis is making a peanut butter sandwich and a marshmallow fluff sandwich.?
He makes both with an equal height h and squeezes the top slices down at a constant velocity vtop. What will the exit velocity of each filling be out the side of the sandwich? Assume a uniform velocity profile and ignore the flow in the directions in and out of the page. Both marshmallow fluff and peanut butter have constant density.

Kitty Ko answers:
Sine you have copied ” ignore the flow in the directions in and out of the page” I’m guessing there is an illustration accompanying the original question. It might have been easier to explain an answer with the illustration.
The exit velocity will be inversely proportional to h, I think [width of sandwich in the plane of the page] / (2 h) * vtop should be the answer, 2 h because there are two open edges to the sandwich if we “ignore the flow in the directions in and out of the page”
By the way, “fluff” implies something contains a lot of gas and thus the density would not be constant in real life, but you know how teacher are: http://xkcd.com/669/

Dreamweaver page will not open properly on IE and Firefox.
Hi,
I am trying to build a site with Dreamweaver. The page looks good on Dreamweaver appln but when I try to open it on IE or Firefox, the columns looks look overlapped. .. feels like all the tables are squeezed. What can I do ?
Thanks,
MrMcQ,
The page seems to open well in IE but not in Firefox. Any idea why ? I am skeptical about the missing parenthesis because I have not done any coding… it was all done on dreamweaver itself. how to rectify this ? Can you please help ?

Kitty Ko answers:
Dreamweaver lets some coding issues drop that may not be such with browsers (which is important in testing) especially with resolutions. You may have an open tag that needs closing, also check to see how your table sizes are being set, either through percentage or straight numbers, the percent size of one table may be conflicting with another.
Let me know if this helps!

Caroline asks…
what do u think of the first page of my book?
this is just the first draft ( the one where u scrible down ur thoughts.)
i have more to add as i go. its just the beginning of the first chapter.
its based on wizards and warriors but u wont be able to tell that from this much. i just want to know if with a little more efort u would find it good to enough to read. BE BRUTALLY HONESTY! if u lie i wont know if i should stop or continue.
“Stop! thief! thief!” that was the first time i had ever been caught. i ran so fast that day, and i’m a really fast runner but they surrounded me, i couldn’t get out. you know, when your younger people just hand you what u need, but as u get older taking a shirt for your bare back will put u in jail. i hate to do it but winters on the way and it had to be done. that left me to sit in a cell and think about that day it all when down. thought i hated the flash backs, i just couldn’t seem to avoid them.
“hey, kid!” said the prison guard.”whats your name?”
“aiden rington” i sighed. i wish fate had not put me in this position but it did so i had to make the best of it. ha, as if anything was good about being me.i was only 4 when there car when in to a nearby river in my home town of Seattle. i have no memory of how i made it out but i remember every detail of their screams as they tried to save me and get out. i obviously wasn’t successful with fighting my tears because the prison guard looked at me like i was some kinda wuss.
“we cant find a rington in the phone book, u got a number?”
“no sir.”
“come on kid unless u want to spend the night here give me your number!”
“i dont have one!” i released that yelling would only get me in more trouble
“so a homeless? should have been able to tell by the clothes.”
i snickered. “ya, cus the stealing a shirt wasn’t any kind of sign i suppose?”
“hey! dont get fresh with me boy! i can keep u in here longer for that attitude!” what a jerk. though i deserved that one after talking like that.
“well your going to have to pay a bail of $298.”
“wha?! i-i dont have that kind of money!”
“well then ya’ll have to wait for a court date.”
great, this is just great! now i would be stuck here for who knows how long! but, i had an idea. maybe i could squeeze though those bars i mean i haven’t had a descent meal in who knows how long so i am skinnier than most. that night at about 1:30 the guard fell asleep. i jumped up and tried to get though but i had no luck.so i got down and released i had bent the bars a bit so i tied to bend them some more. secess! i was able to squeeze out the bent bars and jump down with out a scratch.
i know i have to add much more to it but like i said its just the beginning unedited. it u want to know the plot PLEASE PLEASE email me! i REALLY want to now if some one would read this!
email: xxsomeoneudontknowxx@yahoo.com
thanks. thats y i am not posting the any more that some of it
i know its short but like i said. first draft. its going to get extended as i add detail but for now thats what i jotted down.

Helena asks…
Does this story sound okay? It’s my first story (only the first page)! Be honest!?
It was four o’clock in the morning and my phone rang “Yeah?” I answered groggily. “It’s Tyler…he’s dead. He committed suicide.” My best friend, Jenna Edwards said, sobbing. My heart sank Tyler Guthrie was one of my best friends and Jenna’s boyfriend. I remained silent “Shane?” She asked sniffling. I just hung up the phone. That was just on Thursday, it was Monday. Tyler was like a brother to me. We both met in Kindergarten, I hit him in the face with a plastic bus and knocked out his front tooth, we had been friends ever since. Now I was sitting second row at his funeral behind Mrs. Rollins, his mother. I felt awful for her, her first son Adam had died in a car accident the year before and now Tyler. She was married to Tyler’s step-father and he had made Tyler and Adams life miserable. I look around and see the faces of the over-privileged students of Norton High School. Majority of them barely even knew Tyler, they were just here to be seen and not in the good way either. I looked to my left and saw Jenna with mascara tinted tears streaming from her eyes. I reach over and squeeze her hand. “I heard he did it to get away from Jenna.” Naomi Cooper whispered loudly. “I heard he got her pregnant and he didn’t want to be with Jenna.” Lisa Gardalla sneered. I got up and left out of the funeral. Half those b****es didn’t even know Tyler. I took my hair down and took off my heels and my blazer and sat on the steps the warm June sun hit my legs. I felt my tears dry “Well, Ty how is it up there? Have you met John Lennon yet? Well it sucks down here on Earth.” I say at the sky. “Shane, what the heck? ” My best friend Alex Cartagena said coming up behind me. I turn around and pat the spot next to mine “Sit down. Alexander.” I say in a British accent. “Tyler was your best friend.” Alex says sitting down. I felt a lump rise in my throat “I’m not an idiot Alex. I just couldn’t sit through any more of this s**t. Tyler wouldn’t want this, people crying over him” I reply. “Do you miss him?” Alex asks. I try not to cry “I miss him like crazy. It’s not going to ever be the same Alex. It was supposed to be Jenna, Craig, Tyler, Me and You. It’s never going to be the same Alex.” Alex hugs me, “It’ll all work out somehow.” He says. “Let’s get the f**k out of here.” I hear another voice its Craig’s. “I wanna stay here.” Alex says his shaggy dark black hair covering his tan skin. He’s so gorgeous his dad was black and his mom was white, too bad he was gay. Craig sits down next to us. “I hate funerals.” He says. “Join the club.” I say sarcastically. Alex gets up “I’m going back into the funeral.” He says leaving me and Craig. I look down at Craig’s shoes. “Vans really? You couldn’t be a little dressier?” “Dressy means you wear a dress. You’re not that dressy yourself.” He says. I looked down at my outfit, a simple flowy black skirt that was more for a happier day and a simple dressy white tank top. “F***k you. Does it matter?” I say. He shakes his head. “This summer is going to suck with out Tyler.” He says. “You say that like he’s coming back.” I reply. “That’s the scary part about it. He’ll never come back.” Craig says. “I’ve known him since Kindergarten. I saw him the same day he died. It’s crazy how someone can just disappear like that.” I say. I don’t think I could ever forget that day, I lost my virginity to Tyler.
now were should i go from here?

Kitty Ko answers:
Hmm…Well, I think that the storyline is great. But just some errors every here and there that should be fixed. Some wording could be changed.
For example:
“…suicide,” my best friend Jenna Edwards said, sobbing.
In the first sentence, try to grab the reader’s attention, you know? So instead of saying, “It was four o’clock in the morning..” you could say:
I slept well that night. It was a peaceful, dreamless sleep–until, I was awoken by the sound of the telephone ringing loudly in my ear. It was four o’clock in the morning…
I hope that I helped. But for a new writer, it’s pretty good.

Will health insurance premiums ever be tax-deductible?
I purchase my own health insurance. The one thing in health reform that would have helped people like me would have been to allow the deduction premiums from our taxes, just like people with employer-provided insurance and self-employed individuals can do.
Now that people will have to be purchasing health insurance, will they have to pay with after-tax dollars too? I haven’t heard of anything in the bill that addressed this. You’d think with 2000+ pages they could have squeezed this in.

Kitty Ko answers:
They already are, as medical expenses. Unfortunately, most people don’t have enough to deduct medical expenses even if they do itemize, which is also required.

Compare contrast school vs work?
i need a little help with comparing going to school versus working. my brain is stuck right now i don’t know where to start!
p.s. I need to squeeze out 5 pages of a compare/contrast essay. think i can even do it with this topic?

Kitty Ko answers:
So start here:
School is for children
Parents pay for it with taxes.
Children have no responsibility or liability.
In hopes of improving the future of children, schools put up with all sorts of misbehavior, irresponsibility, and general crap.
Work is an adult matter. If you are working at 15, you are learning to be an adult.
Payment is simple–money for performance. Parents are irrelevant.
YOU are responsible for what you do or don’t do.
Your employer cares mostly about the present. Be responsible and produce NOW, or you’re out on your butt and the money stops. No tardiness, absences, lame excuses, putting the blame on someone else, whining, bitch/moaning–you’re being paid, no matter how badly, to JUST DO IT. My first job paid 75 CENTS per hour–there was no minimum wage in 1957, and I was 14. As a manager, I employed young people for 25 years, and guess what–almost every one pleased me a great deal. The Educational Outreach program of my city asked me to be their keynote speaker FIVE times.

Ok so I spent about 4-5 hours creating this beautiful squeeze page here for my webpage:
And another day plus a factory restore trying to figure out how to get it onto my webhost but here it is:
http://www.saephoria.com/
Yes I know it looks like crap but cmon gimme a break.
The the thing is, I would love to put a nice neat red border around the entire page. Could someone tell me what and where I would need to place what html code to do this (did that make sense?)
Thank you so much ; >

Kitty Ko answers:
Do you mean around the outside of the browser window, or where you already have the double border??
If you want to replace the black double border with a red one, then you need the following…
Where it says
Can I just say that this is a TERRIBLE way of coding. For a start, your website should not be using tables at all – there’s no need for them – you should be using divs exclusively. The way you have coded is no longer recognised as valid html code (it has been deprecated). While it displays ok now, you might find in the very near future that it does not as browsers move on.
You also have the problem of accessibility for blind users. There is talk of people being taken to court and sued because their websites are not accessible by disabled users. Yours certainly is not accessible, so I would STRONGLY advise you to either learn html code properly, or get a professional to do it.
It’s a simple site and would not cost a lot at all. It would be MUCH safer to get it coded properly.
Having said that, I don’t think it looks terrible at all – I’ve seen so-called “professional” designers who produce worse than that in terms of design. It’s clean, simple and effective so give yourself a pat on the back for that!!
If your content is finished, then give me a shout, I’ll sort the code out for you if you like…

How do you use a squared notebook?
I’ve got a Moleskins notebook but the pages are squared rather than lined. At first I tried to use them as lined notebook — i.e. treat the horizontal lines of the squares as normal lines and just ignore the vertical lines. But the squares are too small — end up having to squeeze my writing into the narrow lines.
I’ll have to go back and buy a new notebook — but I’m very curious what people use squared notebooks for?

Where Should I Drive Google Ad to? Traffic to Sales Page or Squeeze Page?
I am currently running some ads on Google and though the click through rate are good, the conversion isnt very fantastic. I am driving my Google ad traffic to my squeeze page where I require them to opt-in to my offer.
I also recently created my sales page and was thinking if I should drive all my traffic to my sales page instead? What are your thoughts?

Kitty Ko answers:
In my opinion, it’s better to drive them to your squeeze page, as it enables you to perform other follow up emails and guide them to your sales page.
Test with different copy for your sales page to see how it’s converting and improve on it. And don’t forget on followup messages for those who have opted in. To boost conversions, you could dangle at them additional bonus if they were to act on your email offers.

What is your favorite Led Zeppelin song?
You can only pick one (Believe me I know how hard it is). My favorite is the Lemon Song. The bass, guitar and vocal rhythm in that song is astounding. My favorite guitar solo by Jimmy Page ever after the hilarious “squeeze my lemon” part. I think that song displays how completely cohesive a group they were.
Has anyone listened to any Led Zeppelin songs besides Stairway to Heaven?

Kitty Ko answers:
Stairway to heaven..it is a brilliant song..the music..lyrics..everything is mindblowing…!!makes u feel in heaven..:)

Has anyone used the new ‘Pay Per Download Profits’ebook package? I have seen the Master resell rights one but I would love to get the PLR version with the video squeeze page! But I can’t find it except at a few sites for 27-47 bucks! Anyone have a copy or know of where I can find it for less $$$ ?

Kitty Ko answers:
It looks to me like you clicked on “Genealogy” when you were trying for “Books and Authors”. Maybe not, but this is the Genealogy category.
I say “maybe not” out of self-deprecation, but I’ve honed my mind to razor sharpness over the years by reading detective stories and doing genealogy. That’s what you did. I can tell. Post again in the proper category and you should get lots of response.
When you re-post, try to think of a specific heading. Everyone who posts a Q is looking for something, be it advice for the love-lorn, homework help or the coat of arms for the Smith family.

Will having multiple sites with the similar content hurt my SEO?
Hello, I just bought 100 domain names. I plan to create 100 squeeze pages one for each domain. All the domains are very similar. Just that they all target different cities. So my question is when I create the squeeze pages do each page need to be significantly different in order for google not to deem them as duplicates? And does the video I use which I plan to host on youtube need to be different for each page? Or can I use the same one without it hurting my SEO? Mainly wondering how’s the best way to do this so all get indexed under the keywords I choose that are in the domain names?

For my Italian class I have to write a paper about comparing Early Renaissance Artwork to Middles Ages Artwork?
The paper has to be 5 pages and I am at 4.5, but am stuck and need to squeeze in one more paragraph..Ive written about sculpture, painting and architecture and threw in a little religion. Should I compare Literature? Would that be considered art? thanks guys.

Kitty Ko answers:
I would consider literature an art!
But what about architecture? During the dark ages Christian hide and used catacombs to bury their dead underneath the city. The oculus is where they put their bodies (from that word derives the word locker).
Christian borrowed the imagery from the Greeks and represented Jesus in the image of Apollo. Christian is the Greek word for messiah. They also borrowed from them the architecture. They used the basically plan for their churches. Basilicas were old roman government buildings.
The only other floor plan they used was the Greek cross which was an old style of the Greek temple. Inside these temples were covered with mosaics. The reason why they were covered with all this mosaic imagery was because people did not read. They were illiterate, so these frescos were an important part of their understanding.

How to place a navigation menu?
I have a website that I’m building (http://www.theinvestortoday.com) that is basically a squeeze page. It is a masthead with a long continuous table centered below it.
I want to include a navigation menu on the left that users can use to make the page feel a little more “offiical” looking. I found a website that helps autogenerate a flash navigation menu (http://www.hypergurl.com/flashnavbar.html).
I’m trying to input the code generated from my flash menu so that it is directly to the left of the main table with the correct spacing.
Here is the autogenerated flash code:
<!–
theObjects = document.getElementsByTagName("object");
for (var i = 0; i
How can I place the menu directly to the left of the table? I’ve been able to use CSS to make the position of the navigation menu as absolute but if any user has a different screen resolution than I do than that position won’t make sense.
So my question is how do I make the navigation menu appear just to the left of my main table regardless of what the user has their screen resolution set to?

Kitty Ko answers:
Put it inside a division.
Or you could Flash and do something like this
CSS
button.nav
{
font-family:Comic Sans MS;
font-size:large;
color:blue;
background-color:#A9D3BC;
width:180px;
border-color:#D9C9DA;
border-width:3px;
}

What the Bloody Hell is wrong with yahoo?
Just an hour ago i was in answers page, squeezing my brain to type out really long answers and when in hit submit, it says “OOPS!”
i mean WTF?!!!
it happens once in a while, its alright, but this is annoying!
imagine, 10 pages, an hour of typing (which i hate) and it says OOPS!
i almost smashed my monitor!
and believe it or not, it happened again while i posted this question,
i think we all should threaten Yahoo that all of us will not log in for a day or two until they promise us good service, may it be free service, but good service, coz someone pays for it!
Kitty Ko answers:
I know I get annoyed at this as well.
As you take a while to type a long answer and then it says oops or Yahoo is taking a Coffee Break.
Lol I have wanted to do that a couple of times to the computer.
Yeah I might do that.

Recover Paged Pool Memory?
Hi. I’m doing some research on getting some paged pool memory for my 32-bit Windows XP Professional, with 8gigs of RAM, (which is reduced twice after, down too low for my games). I want to play my 3D games like StarCraft 2 and Black Ops but my Video Card on DirectX version 9.0c is being hindered, (giving me “Directx encountered an unrecoverable error”). So far I’ve done one solution by going into Regedit>>Memory Management and my gameplay improved a lot. Is there any other solution to this? Should I keep squeezing more paged pool memory with the method above?
Kitty Ko answers:
Not sure how your getting the most out of XP 32 bit with 8Gb ram seeing as it can only use about 3Gb.
More Memory paging only works properly in games with an immaculately optimized hard disk (defragged)
The best improvement you could make is to upgrade your windows to Version 7 64bit.
Directx encountered an unrecoverable error is usually do to an underpowered PSU or too low spec Videocard especially if you are using an on board integrated video chipset.

Creaky kindle 3 noise ?
I have a kindle 3 and when I squeeze it near the lest page turn buttons it makes a creaking noise. Does this happen to anyone else? If it does is it a problem?
Kitty Ko answers:
Not normal. Return and replace it at no charge. The books save to the account when you deactivate it.
Kylee asks…
What is the point of Yahoo! answers? Why should I continue?
The “rewards” are just the ability to spend more time doing the same thing. The answers are highly unreliable and often off the wall (though that can be fun, especially if you can squeeze in a subtle joke).
Hard questions do not get good or thoughtful answers here. They fly by too fast on the main page too. And as a social networking site, this place stinks.
Is there any reason to come back here again?
Kitty Ko answers:
I am an engineer and a poet, and I come back because I am unemployed and no one is buying my poems right now. It is a reality check and a finger on the pulse of “universal cosmic consciousness” at any given moment (and I found out they asked Barney Fife to lip sing because he could not carry a tune in a bucket).
